about

As experimental noise duo Gum Takes Tooth, Jussi Brightmore and Tom Fug, push their sound in a new direction with their latest two-part 'Recovered EP'. Two brand new tracks are accompanied by remixes of the duo's 2023 album 'Recovery Position' from an exciting collection of aligned artists.

It's an exhilarating transitional moment for GTT with the new tracks providing a snapshot of where the band is at, both creatively and as a gigging live outfit. The new material retains their commitment to relentless future focused experimentation while simultaneously invoking the visceral body moving fire of their current live sets. The two-part release will coincide with a tour in February where they'll perform their live shows across Europe.

‘Recovered Part 2’ presents the other new work from GTT; 'Holding Pattern' is another leap into the future, shooting lightspeed rhythms through with brutal bass drums it spins an impressively hypnotizing wormhole of dark energy that’s formed an energetic apogee in recent live shows. Japanese electronic producer Scotch Rolex, known for releases on pioneering Ugandan label Nyege Nyege Tapes and Shanghai’s SVBKVLT, as well as for his work with Shackleton and WaqWaq Kingdom, runs with the footwork theme and accelerates 'Duress Imprint' into a grimey brooding workout. USA based Glass Out, who has worked with Coil and Sheep On Drugs, delivers his ‘Poly-Filth’ remix of 'Small Arms', a wild take on acid flecked body music. Closing the pack is UKAEA, British synth head Dan Jones, who released his latest album 'Birds Catching Fire In The Sky' to critical acclaim through The Quietus last year. Here he explores maximalized frequencies with his booming sound design in his remix of 'Octavian Eclipse'.

The Recovered EP will be released by the Barcelona based Selvamancer imprint, a heads down DIY label with Dutch roots pushing sunburned rave sounds and other sonic violence. With forthcoming releases lined up by Gesloten Cirkel, Legowelt and Hedge Maze in 2024, this is an exciting new chapter in their catalogue.
